Northwest Houston is shaped by two major corridors: US-290 toward Cypress and SH 249 toward Willowbrook and Tomball, with Beltway 8 and the Grand Parkway connecting them. Housing shifts from garden apartments and townhouses near the freeways to subdivisions built across several decades and newer construction farther out. A Jersey Village address and an unincorporated Harris County address can come with different services, taxes, and rules even when both are called northwest Houston.
